I think that if Al Gore was President that war with Iraq would not be even a discussion at this point. I speculate that he would have focused more on the homefront, and trying to revive the economy back to levels we saw in the mid-90's. I honestly believe that this war with Iraq was not inevitable, but came about through the will of solely this administration, and had Gore been elected there would be no talk of war. This is NOT to say that the theoretical Gore administration was not doing what they could to keep US citizens safe (which is what Chopper seemed to be saying...at least that's what I got out of it).

I also think that had discussion of war arose, Gore would not have pushed nearly as hard as Bush has, unless there really is somethign that the Government is keeping from us...There would be no Gore Doctrine saying we as a Nation have the right to pre-emptively attack any other nation.

Really there is so much that would likely be vastly different (despite what seemed like similar candidates in 2000) that it is really hard to say what would have happened and where we would be today.
