HC I have a story to tell yall?
HC when I first started working here, one of my students told me that she didn't believe in God?
HC we talked about it?
HC I didn't pressure her or press my beliefs on her?
HC we haven't discussed it since?
HC I have been careful not to discuss God because of the whole separate church and state thing?
HC tonight she came to ask me if they could all watch the news?
HC I said yes, and turned on Dateline?
HC a few minutes later, she goes into her room crying?
HC I go in there to console her?
HC I explain to her that I'm scared too?
HC I told her that you just have to stay faithful?
HC she came back out of her room and finished watching Dateline?
HC at 9:00pm, they have lights out?
HC I sent them all to their rooms?
HC a few minutes later, she comes back out?
HC she asked if everyone could come into the common area to PRAY?
HC I said yes?
HC all the girls, except for one (she is a serious loner) came into the common area and linked arms or held hands?
HC I prayed FOR THE FIRST TIME ALOUD IN FRONT OF PEOPLE?
HC I never do that?
HC my relationship with God is VERY personal to me?
HC I have never been comfortable praying aloud?
HC I did it tonight, for my girls?
HC the girl who didn't believe in God at first said a prayer as well?
HC I started tearing up?
HC one of the girls said a prayer, too, and asked for our whole house to be blessed, even her roommate who she doesn't even like?
HC it was the most moving thing ever?
HC these kids were praying?
HC I felt God in this place?
HC we had a group hug and told each other that we loved each other?
HC I think they will sleep better now tonight?
HC I am very emotional right now?
HC I'm not really scared anymore?
HC I'm more worried about my girls?
HC they understand all this a lot better than I thought?
HC I am PROUD of them?
HC they were very mature tonight?
HC they will get a special treat for this?!
HC I love my girls?
HC I know why God sent me here?
HC I will stay here until He tells me that I need to go home?
HC prayer works, y'all?
HC I was sitting here wishing that Carla was actually here to hug me or one of my friends or my sister or SOMEBODY?
HC I got ELEVEN hugs tonight?
