Oh we have so much to learn. Alpha Kappa Alpha is an organization based on service not looks. I'm usually a silent monitor but this post made me compelled to respond. I don't know whether or not your interest in this organization is based on a stereotype in which you think you represent, but take a look at all organizations and what they stand for. Take it from there when you decide what sorority is right for you. Sororities aren't modeling agencies. It's not about the outer covering but the inner being. I can't stress enough...read research and read some more because Alpha Kappa Alpha is a lifetime commitment. So while you're walking around campus and encounter a member please don't say "oh by the way I have nice bone structure keep me in mind at rush." Please don't embarass yourself with that statement in public because some words are never forgotten. I hope my post doesn't sound harsh but I'm just passing along a little knowledge to help and not hinder. Also from the standpoint of one SF to another...change that name and utilize discretion. Have a blessed day ladies!
