We are doing a workshop on firesaftey in two weeks. We are going to practice helping people exit in case of a fire and making sure that we know what we need to do so that no one gets hurt. (We are going to other exit practices too, ie ritual, nightime withblocked stairs, etc...) Practice can help the situation, and when the members know what needs to be done, like turning the lights on and proping doors and pulling the alarm, while still not putting themselves in harm. We are also watching a video and they show a dorm room burning. the whole room is gone in 4 minutes.and after 2 you can scare your lungs so bad that it will cause perment damage. I guess what i'm saying is that a concerned effort towards education can help prevent a chapter from having tragedy, or lessen its effects anyhow.
