More on Diddy . . .
From mtv.com:
Most rappers are content to endorse soft drinks or alcohol. But not the ever entrepreneurial P. Diddy. In his never-ending quest to be the king of all media, Puff has announced plans to launch a line of branded alcoholic beverages called Diddy Drinks, according to his spokesperson.
There's no firm date for the debut of the Drinks — based on fruity concoctions the hip-hop mogul mixes at his legendary parties — but in an interview that ran on Sunday in the London Sunday Telegraph, Diddy said, "I'm not just a talker," in response to a question on whether he was serious about the plan.
Diddy is also serious about branching out musically with an upcoming dance album. The LP will feature production from some of the world's premier techno studio wizards, his spokesperson said.
The hush-hush album, which doesn't have a title or release date yet, will include tracks produced by Deep Dish, Felix Da Housecat and famed Soul II Soul leader Nellee Hooper (Björk, Madonna). The rapper will premiere the album's first single — a duet with singer Kelis — at the DanceStar American Dance Music Awards on March 19.
The duo will perform the song "Let's Get Ill" live on the sandy beaches of Miami Beach during the second annual all-star techno/dance event, which will also feature performances from Dirty Vegas, DJ Sammy and Paul Oakenfold.
Diddy is also planning to expand his empire in other ways. In addition to his Bad Boy label, Blue Flame marketing firm, Sean John clothing line — which he's looking to bring to England — and Justin's soul food restaurants in New York and Atlanta, the rapper wants to open two more Justin's in Detroit and Miami in the near future. Additionally, he's thinking about launching a still-unnamed nightclub in Miami and a chain of boutique hotels.
Giving his ex J. Lo a run for her money, Diddy, who had a role in 2001's Oscar-winning "Monster's Ball," is also expected to announce his next film project this week. His spokesperson had no information on the movie at press time.
