According to the NASA website, she got her Bacherlor's degree from Punjab Engineering College in India. She then went on to graduate from the University of Texas at Arlington for her master's degree in 1984. Then she graduated from the University of Colorado with her doctorate in 1988. If she got her undergrad degree in India, it's unlikely that she was a collegiate sorority member. Perhaps she was in a professional engineering GLO or was an honorary member of a Southeast Asian sorority such as Delta Phi Omega (
