I've talked to a great deal of former prisoners over the years, as I've been unfortunate enough to have known people pretty well who ended up there.
It isn't a picnic - it isn't luxury, it isn't a walk in the park, at least not for those I've had contact with.
I don't think that prisoners are getting off easy; but that's just me.
