I love Common. I think that is mostly due to the fact that he looks at hip-hop as an art, not just a job. He considers his music an art, and true artists are protective of their creations. Pablo Picasso wasn't letting his next door neighbor pick up his paintbrushes and go to town on his canvas. But, every rapper nowadays has an entourage of sub-par rappers who grew up with them that are featured all over their albums. Michelangelo didn't let the priests of the Sistine Chapel tell him who should produce the ceiling.
