Start hiding mouse traps in articles of clothing that people are borrowing from you without asking. I did this for a while and people learned not to take my stuff anymore without asking. I finally ahd to start locking my door because people would borrow things when I needed them and it had to stop.
I'm telling you, the mouse trap thing works.
