Okay ladies, I've spoken with Laura Caulfield on this one. Basically, the answer is that in order to attend collegiate social functions you must be a Collegiate Member in good standing with the Fraternity or the date of a collegiate member in good standing with the Fraternity. The reason why alumnae are not permitted at collegiate social functions is that the chapter has no way to hold alumnae accountable or liable for their actions (which is why each of our members is responsible for the actions of her date).

Having parents attend Presents or a Daddy/Daughter or Parent/Daughter Formal is different than having alumnae at general social events. These events have different atmospheres and your parents are the guests of the member at the event.

If you have questions about events your chapter hosts you should talk to your chapter advisor about the event and whether or not it is appropriate for alumnae to attend that particular event.
