I agree with Glitter in that it does not have to be someone from the chapter who put the badge up for sale. Remember, Gamma Iota has been around since 1977 and since then I'm sure there have been women from the chapter who have accidently lost their badge (yes yes shame on them but it does happen) or women who have passed away leaving their badges in the hands of family who may not know to return them to Central Office.
Also the site does not say that the chapter placed the badge up for sale, it simply says that the badge comes from that chapter most likely due to the attached chapter guard. So please lets reserve the shame on you's.
Finally while the situation is definitely not a good one, I believe that the best thing to do is to take Lora143s advice and "take action on this" I know that when I checked the site the high bidder was a sister from my undergraduate chapter. While she has since been outbidded, I hope that there are those of us out there who may be able to follow her lead. And to those of you who are thinking "yes great idea in theory, but I'm a broke college student" I'm right there with you, but we all have sisters somewhere around us and a little bit from everybody could work...it's at least worth a try.
