I don't have a home phone but when I did I had a Panisonic and it worked well for me. Oddly enough my family now has 5 coordless phones and all are different brands. But mine lasted the longest.
So if you cannot afford to just ditch your home phone and use a cell phone...then I'd try a Panisonic.
