UF_Pike, no worries. No one will ever accuse you of being a propritor of political correctness. I think you have managed to touch on many offensive topics/stereotypes in just two days! Congrats!
Anyway, onto something more worthy of attention.
Aggie, while you may find comfort in justifying one racial injustice with another, it really doesn't work that way. I have strong Cherokee blood and am very proud of it. I am appalled at the way the colonialists terrorized the Indigenous Americans. But do I think that minimizes another ethnics group's struggles? Not at all. Jews are still suffering from the effects of the Holocaust. Blacks are still suffering from slavery.
I think the reason that the plight of blacks recieves more attention is simply the sheer number of blacks in this country. The third largest minority. Native Americans, unfortunately do not boast these kinds of numbers, and therefore it is harder to create some sort of outcry. Also, think back to your education. Were you ever informed about the living conditions of this country's founders? No. You were told that the pilgrims came, held hands with the "Indians", and we had Thanksgiving. Not many people are aware of the plight, you know?
It all boils down to miseducation. Ghetto? Fabulous? Putting the two words together just doesn't make sense. MTV/BET, artists, and atheletes will have you believe it does, if it means money in their pockets, though.
