Congratulations on your desire to rush at the University of Kentucky!
To add on to greeklawgirl's post, I believe that confidence plays an important role at Recruitment events. At some campuses, Recruitment events can be tough, but if a rushee can overcome that and still be comfortable with her surroundings, then the sisters will be able to see it. I know that's true in my chapter. If a rushee also exhibits a desire to extend herself in an effort to contribute to our Fraternity, then that's also a plus!
Not all AGD chapters require recommendations, so your best bet would be to email the AGD chapter. If you find out that recommendations are strongly suggested, then maybe one of us can help you out!
BTW, have you already downloaded and filled out the Panhellenic Recruitment Application? I checked out the UKY Greek Affairs website and the deadline's somewhere in August. Remember to read all their rules and policies carefully!
According to the UKY site, though their Panhellenic doesn't have a required minimum GPA, that may not be the case with the sororities. The fact sheet stated that UKY AGD's minimum HS GPA was 3.2
Now, this is my personal opinion... I've seen girls who looked *STELLAR* on paper (ie. outstanding GPA, lists of community service & extra curriculars), but in person they weren't all that. Then I've seen girls who barely met the minimum GPA and had an okay resume...and I absolutely loved them at recruitment. I feel that it's a balance of both that helps you have a successful rush!
Also, don't be afraid of doing some of the question-asking at the events!
Good luck with rush and remember to keep us posted!
