I've been at the hospital all day with my mom. She was admitted around 1 PM. She couldn't walk and can't talk. She is in a semi-comotose state. They did an MRI and the results showed no physical tumors in her brain. This is good. However, there are some forms of cancer that when they spread they do not form physical tumors, instead just inhabit many cells with-in an organ. They will be doing a spinal tap tomorrow morning to see is that is the case. They suspect that it is. They would like to put her in a hospice to provide the most comfort for her. My dad is a university professor and his schedule is somewhat flexible, but there is no way he can take care of her. He thinks this is for the best too. We will go look at the place tomorrow to make sure that is where we want her to go. It's been a terribly hard day for me...I have amazing support. The things that hurt the most are things I have not gotten to share with her...my wedding one day, children, etc. But I have gotten to share so much with her and for that I really am thankful. Everyone do me a favor and call your mom's just to tell them how much you love them. Please keep my family and myself in your prayers. I'll let everyone know how it turns out.
Thank you again for the kind words and support. It's nice to have a place to go where I can say whatever is on my mind.
Love,
CJ

Then there are friends who sail together, through quiet waters and stormy weather. Helping each other through joy and through strife. And those are the kind who give meaning to life.
