I missed the first post, so I may not understand the problem. A nice guy wants to come out who is much like most of the chapter, and fits the requirements?
But you don't want him in because he doesn't add diversity.

The only reason that would be a factor is if you have too many people that are already less than cool. And you are rightly afraid of the way the interest group will be perceived on campus.
Girls are more aware of the social ramifications of their members' profiles but men are not completely oblivious.
If you get too many, and please excuse me! Dorks, or socially backwards people, it will seriously affect your future prospects, both with Rushing and with girls.
To say anything else is . . . just . . . not . . . true.
By the way, that is not totally a looks things . . . gubberdom is an essence.
IF you can trade him out for a better prospect fine. But if you need to fill a live body quota ($$$$$) quota that most national's ask for, hold your breathe, take him, and introduce a fitness program into your pledge program.
IF you can't have people with natural finesse . . . well jocks aren't bad either lol.
