We do a candle pass too.
You are in a circle, lights off, there is one lit candle. You pass it around and talk about whatever you like, from family issues, to school, and of course the house. Only the person with the candle can talk and nothing can ever be mentioned again. (unless brought up by the person who said it during the circle) That is a big thing! We call it Tau Silence, it is up there with ritual silence. It allows people to air issues that are bothering them and really clear the air in the house. you need to have boxes of tissues or tp, people start crying a ton. This really helps us. we forget to ask some times and people have more in life than just the letters.
we do reatreat, bowling, potlucks, and are doing the 'Rules of Sex". It is going to reinforce women in their choices, ie abstience. We are aiming to talk about sexual assult on campus and helping women deal with the things that happen to them. Our aim is to have sisters realize that telling someone that they are being a dirty girl isn't proactive, rather, looking at what else is going on and how we can help her from doing destructive and dangerous behaviors. It will be moderated by a school counselor, who is female, also give women that connection to someone they can talk to about this issue.
hope that helps!
