Things aren't much better here in NYC. It's true that there are many more men, but not necessarily more high quality men.
Places to meet men: bars, dance clubs, gyms, church, cooking class, and volunteer work in a field that holds your interest.
You might want to try an internet 'match' type of site. A few of my friends have met some nice guys online.
