I've been having problems with it too, but I've figured out how to get around them. Go to geocities and type your login info. When you get the "Page cannot be displayed" error, type in
www.geocities.com , and it should take you to the main geocities page with your account info on it. Then click on the place in geocities you wanted to go to (ie, file manager, ez upload, etc...) You should get the "page cannot be displayed" error again. Go to the location bar and delete the * and everything in the URL that comes before the *. Once you do all that you should be in and can do whatever you want without jumping through anymore hoops.
