It depends where you live but...

Last summer my chapter ran a Fireworks booth for 4th of July. It was a lot of fun and hard work. (we had to rent a trailer to transport the fireworks, schedule shifts, and sell, sell, sell) All week our chapter sat out in a Tacobell parking lot in the hot sun. (I know most chapters won't be able to do something like this, because you can't sell fireworks in most places. but almost every greek org. on my campus does a booth). We actually ending up buying11 badges with the money. (Long story, bascially UPS lost them but we couldn't track it, but good news is it was my initiation group--which is Fall 2000! so it was great to finally receive our badges this fall!!!-two years later) The rest of the money we donated to the Phi Sig foundation. (or going to, I think)

So, if you can do it in your area, it does make a lot of money and I say go for it.

oh yea cookie dough is always a good one too. people love that stuff.
