Sorhor SigmaDiva,

She just turned 18 years old during the month of December. I just think that because this is a generation of the "I've got mine or I'm getting mine" syndrome they don't care about learning, being honest, striving for perfection, and the list goes on and on.
On any given day, I can walk by the senior or even the junior parking lot and see every type of luxury car or SUV sitting in the parking lot and the car was purchased for the various students by their parents. They have no goals to work for because adults just give them what they want. I had 20 students absent from school on Friday, because they were taking a trip to go skiing even though they know that the quarter and semester is ending. However, I still administered my Psychology quiz and they will get a very hard version of the quiz for disregarding their academics. What makes it even worse is that if you call the parents about their child's performance they get mad at us, the educators. She's not crazy at all because she is just acting like her peers and getting away with it in some of her classes. However, I hold all of my students accountable for their work.
