Not just the professional world, but in the educational world also. My name sounds nothing like an African- American name. When I applied for HBU my senior year I was accepted without interview. I came to move into my apartment on campus, and the young lady said that she was not expecting an African - American and asked for my identification. Now if that don't beat all. I was not only offended, but highly curious as to what the racial ora was of the University. Lets just say I am in the process of moving back home to SHSU.
