I am also hoping that Satellite subscribers, like myself, are not left w/o the option to receive this new channel.
But, what bothers me is the fact that, for the most part, Radio One mainly owns Urban-- usually hip-hop stations across the country. I wonder how they will be able to rise above the lure to satisfy that audience as BET does. The type of audience they are trying to reach is not the same that will watch 5hrs. of BET a night, but that audience is also quite picky about where they receive their nightly news-- if they chose to add a news program.
I don't know if you can sucessfully mix the two.
I wish them well, but I hope they do not feel the need to get "hip" in order to satisfy advertisers.
But, in the interest of good competition, they have my support.
