A new library called the African American Research Library and Cultural Center in Fort Lauderdale Florida has opened. The black community there donated half a million dollars toward the construction of the library. This is the third library of it's kind in the US, joining the Auburn Avenue Research LIbrary in Atlanta, and the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in New York City.
