These articles seem to be popping up all over several different GLO publications within the last 6 months or so. It looks like both Auld-Patterson-Burr and Legacy-Masters-of-Design are making a little marketing push. Clever idea.

The evolution of these 2 companies is very interesting to me personally because as they have split and merged over the last 100+ years, they have changed their techniques and their hallmarks. A thorough knowledge of their history can be useful in dating a badge that is not otherwise marked.

Perhaps these articles may help to explain a collector's fascination with badges. It is interesting to know how they are manufactured today, but this process is actually fairly dull and sterile compared to the handmade badges of the 19th century.
