Sorry it took me a while to get back to you. I can answer just about any question you have on the Texas Tech Greek System. As you can see, I am an Alpha Phi (alum), but I still work with the Texas Tech chapter.

First, don't let the seemingly complicated sign-up process dissuade you from going through recruitment. It's really not so different from the process most women have to go through to participate in rush at any school with a large Greek system. Just contact the Panhellenic office and they will mail you everything you need to get started.

This year Panhellenic will be distributing a CD-ROM with information about all the sororities, recruitment rules and more! So look for that.

How much does it cost to join a sorority at Texas Tech?

On average, the new member semester is the most expensive, due to several one-time fees. After initiation, the dues are reduced for the remaining semesters.

The cost of sorority dues excludes items like T-shirts, hats, jewelry, and other miscellaneous items. The average cost for a new member semester is between $800 and $1,100. The average cost for each semester after that is $350 and $600.
