Yeah, that makes sense to me. But, it wouldn't always be that way...most chapters of Sigma Alpha Iota have on average about 15 members...there are some "large" chapters(25+ members), and some very small chapters(-10 members). My chapter has only 7 active members, and I'll admit, there's some problems that come along with that few members. It's hard to organize socials because we really need all 7 of us there or there's not enough people, y'know? Same with organizing fundraisers, service projects, etc. However...smaller chapters have the bonus of being really close with their sisters. I not only KNOW all my sisters, but I know their majors, their class scedules, where they live, their pets' names, I mean EVERYTHING. We are really close, and I would hate for nationals to shut us down for low numbers.
But I can definately see how small numbers COULD be a problem. I figure that's why KD and ZTA were shut down (or whatever happened) here. I know from looking in the yearbooks that they were the two smallest groups.
I dunno...I just hate to know that there's inactive chapters of ANY GLO out there. It makes me sad...because you know that there must have been a strong sisterhood at one point. I REALLY hate when I go to the SAI national site and look at the directory of chapters and see how many inactive chapters there are. In Arkansas, there are SAI chapters at four other colleges. There used to be two more chapters(as well as two other alumni chapters)but they're inactive.
