But, I was always told that when one cannot or does not take the time out to learn how to CORRECTLY pronounce your name, that it shows disrespect. Especially, among public/political figures. Example, Farrakhan..I have heard on many shows (ie CNN cross fire, etc), political, etc. that have pronounced his name as Far-a-kan. Normally, this mispronunciation came from the "side" that is AGAINST his views/ideology.
I get mad too when people mispronounce my name. So, I can feel Mfume on that one!
