Have faith in the one you luv. He is attempting to become a member of one of the elite fraternities in this universe. I don't believe there's a moment that goes by that he doesn't use u as his encouragement. Be patient, encourage, support and most of all continue your love for him, as in the end and at the crossing over you would have played an important in his life by just showing him the support that he needs at this time.
