My alumnae chapter (3 years old) is pretty much made up of people who came from collegiate chapters out of state and moved to Washington state, we have very few women from either of the collegiate chapters close by us.

While we help out the collegiate chapter (formed the House Corp, provided some advisors, help with recruitment) it isn't our focus and that's what most of our members want. A lot of the women who have contacted us over the three years have said they want the social stuff with other alums and don't want to be there just for the collegiate chapter.

You should try some events that have nothing to do with the collegiates and see what kind of turn out you get.

But, you have to just keep working and keep up the persistence. Each time you invite them, you should get more people. Nothing's going to happen quickly.

Gamma Phi has an "Alumnae Chapter Development Team" made up of a couplf of women who assist both new alumnae chapters as well as struggling alumnae chapter. Your organization might have the same thing. I found our Team member to be invaluable during the first year we were forming.
