I agree with my Sorors on this issue and I have to make a rather lengthy comment...

IMHO, since the "Board of Trustees" for our corporate offices have to come from a chapter wouldn't it seem rather difficult for a national governing body to dissolve? Also, since our governing system is in essence a "democracy", then essentially aren't we governed for the people, by the people? Just asking.

Secondly, especially for Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the whole reason for establishing graduate chapters was to create a perpetual organization to maintain chapters' traditions on January 29, 1913. I thought that is why we became incorporated which naturally transcended to corporate office. Long time ago laws for non profits were not as well defined as they are now (somewhat). And now,'cuz our 501c3 tax ID status has to be maintained, all members need to have that "corporate" training.

Moreover, wouldn't it seem that from another country's perspective, our national president, Dr. Norma S. White IS the first representation of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. (this also goes for all the other NPHC affiliates, too)? And since the United States of America is a democracy, isn't a part of our heritage the diversity of organizations which is based on our Bill of Rights--the right for lawful assembly. So when some person from Palestine sees our organizations, I would hope that his thoughts about the USA aren't just based on who is sleeping in the "Lincoln" bedroom...
