Before transferring schools, you should consider the National Student Exchange program. It would be a way for you to get away from your campus (for a semester or a year), experience a new place, and then go home and finish up (or actually transfer there). Depending on the campus, you pay either your home campus tuition or the other campus' tuition.
I did this when I went to Univ. of Hawaii (talk about a different experience there!), and it was the best experience I've ever had. I only mention this because the sucky part of transferring is losing credits, but it sounds like you've got the travel itch, so maybe this might help you get thru that....
