yes! i believe shoeless joe should be....and while we're talking about people who should be reinstated, pardoned for mistakes etc. i think the guy who set John Wilkes Boothe's borken limb should be pardoned too (i forgive things easily if they don't directly affect me)

For those who don't know, here's a quick recap. Jackson was a member of the 1919 Chicago White Sox, who were heavily favored in the 1919 World Series against the Cincinnati Reds. The Reds took the series, and it was found later that several of the White Sox had worked with bookies to "throw" the series, getting payoffs in return. Jackson, who hit over .400 in the series and did not make an error, knew of the deal but did not profit from it. However, he was banned from baseball just as the rest of the players were. The scandal is called the "Black Sox" scandal.

Now, Jackson is in the top ten in batting average all time, an excellent fielder, and was one of the best players of the era - a sure-fire Hall of Famer if eligible.

The question is: should he be? If Rose is re-instated, should Jackson?
