Going national doesn't have to cost *that* much, especially since you all don't have houses. That's a HUGE expense right there. If we didn't have this house, my chapter wouldn't be paying the parlor fees, furnishing fees, etc. that we pay now.
If you did go national, the pledging process would definitely change, so don't worry about that!
But in the meantime, just do what my dad did when he was a pledge...one day an active whacked him with a paddle, and instead of saying, "Thank you, Sir, may I have another?" like he was supposed to, my dad said, "Hit me again, Sir, and I'll kick your a**." But you've gotta mean it...
