I would definitely advise meeting with your new President. Tell him/her about your purpose and what you do. We have a new President ourselves this year and almost every organization has sat down with him and talked about their background, their goals, etc. It really helps build relations.

As a matter of fact, you should encourage the other groups to do it as well. Talk to IFC and Panhellenic or whatever governing bodies you have there and encourage their officers to meet with the President at the very least.
