Make sure everything you get for your scrapbook is acid free. Someone mentioned construction paper in scrapbooks. That's great and all for a while but if you don't get acid free cardstock, it can ruin your pics. And avoid the magnetic pages like the plague. They don't hold up over time and also turn yellow.
