I get the same remarks when I sport my afro. "Dang there go lil Jill Scott right there!" I am like okay so we are both thickins, we both have natural hair and we are the same complexion. I guess this is all someone needs to make a comparison though. Oh and because I attend the poetry cafe EVERY thursday night to break them off with a little something something....
We don't look alike to me though Jill Scott IS beautiful! I just think that people automatically think that if you cute, thick, and got a fro, you must be Jill....whatever....

At least once a week, I hear, "Ooh, you look like Jill Scott! I love Jill, so it's definitely a compliment. There is a similarity in the face and smile, and when the afro is out, I hear it all day long.
I get that same syndrome of looking like somebody. "Do you know so-and-so? Y'all could be twins." I actually had to enlighten some HS children and let them know that all big girls really don't look alike. And why is it that you always could be so-and-so's sister/cousin/etc, but you NEVER see that person yourself?
