Where I am, people use all sorts. But every year, most people get whatever is newest and trendiest (icicle lights a few years back, swag lights the year after that... still waiting to see what springs up this year).
The icicle lights look dumb in the day when you can see the crinkly cord stuff...
And, yes, it snows where I am...
