I don't even gather Christmas lists. I just go out and find the best, most random present for my family memebers that way it's something unique.
Like last year I bought my brother a wooden box that was very nicely carved and decorated. Inside it had two decks of cards. Since he'd gone away to college he'd started playing card games with friends. So, I thought it'd be something neat and fun for him to own. Besides, it was such a nice wooden box I knew he'd keep it for years!
