I must reply to this as my husband & I watch a bit of the Republican convention last night. Did anyone else notice (and please excuse my language...I hate this word but it is the only one that discribes what I saw) the "niggas on parade"? I was literally sick to my stomach as they trotted out minority after minority (included their favorite Colin Powell--whom I have respect for) to tell 'us' why we should come on back to the 'Party of Lincoln'. Then, they panned the crowd and strategicly showed the 3 or 4 Black folks that were actually delegates whooping it up like someone had given them a million dollars. I truly wish we had other options, because as a Christian I am probably more conservative that most democrats; however it would have to be a different kind of Republican to get my vote! That's why the democrats take us for granted....they know we truly have no alternative. So, in a way, I applaud those Black folks that can find their way to the Republican party....let's just hope they are making their voices heard and are not just skinning and grinning glad to be there!
