!I agree-go with you closest friends! You will have a lot more fun and simply being in a "party town" won't be all that great if you don't enjoy the company. In fact, it could be a disappointment.
EVERYONE around here gets double invites during the holidays. It's a given that guests will attend in everything from a holiday theme sweater to a tux. It's a real "social" statement when a guest shows up and says, "Oh we were at..." or, "We must go to..."
Shhhhhhhhhhh-Sometimes people will dress differently just to give the impression they have a "full" social calendar.
