I did a decent amount of service in high school.

My absolute favorite was coaching soccer for boys in pre-K to second grade. Little kids are so funny, and it was a great release for me, and I got to make a huge impact on the kids teaching them not only how to play soccer but things like sportsmanship and teamwork.

I also was part of a project called the Green Springs Elementary Buddy program through my gifted and talented class. We would go once a week to the elementary school and basically hang out and befriend our "buddy" who had been determined as at-risk either socially or developmentally. We weren't there to tutor them but just be their friend.

Finally for Spanish National Honor Society, I took part in a program called Mother's hands at my HS, it was a place for low income families to get free food and clothes and discounted items (big things like strollers, or occasionally needed furniture). There were a lot of Hispanic families that used the program and since they had to bring their children in order to recieve their quota on various things we had a room where we baby sat them and used our spanish skills (as rudimentary as they may have been) to keep them entertained.
