I am truly amazed by what you and your small group of sisters have accomplished so far! Remember that even if you do events with GPhiB, you can still do COR events on your own!

(At my alma mater, Valparaiso, formal recruitment is now just one week in January, with all sororities having the same kinds of parties at the same time; you can put your own twist on things but if Wednesday is Philanthropy Day, you're expected to do a philanthropy project of some sort, and if Friday is bid night, then that's what all of the seven sororities are doing that night. But in fall, many sororities did COR during the same week, but did their own activities and bid night/time.)

If you do end up with a Panhellenic Council, you will most likely do a Formal Recruitment all together on the same plan, and do COR or informal on your own schedule a number of times per year. Look at things and see if you'd consider this to be Formal Recruitment or informal rush, and then decide whether you want to participate. It may be that the greek council sororities will need to decide which quarter to do Formal, and plan those events *together*, and do COR the other two quarters.

You also may want to designate requirements for recruitment-- when can freshmen be recruited? (At Valpo, it's only second semester, so they can get to know the campus and classes and other organizations before rushing.) Is there a school-wide minimum GPA for potential new members? These are things to consider, and you'll have to work with AP and GPhiB to decide how you want to do it. But that means that you *will* be part of the greek council and the decision-making process.

You may have already decided some of those things; I just read the whole 60-page saga in three hours while doing laundry, so it's hard to remember everything you've gone through already!

-grin- Keep your heads up, get that website together, and get your names out there! It'll take a while, but you *can* do it!
