... In all seriousness, from time to time, troublemakers do materialize... but that doesn't mean we should go accusing all and sundry of being troublemakers... particularly newbies - we might scare off some people who would otherwise become valuable contributors.

Sounds like the process it took to get my job....but it keeps the weirdos out of the position.
