I have to agree with you GMUTeKE - positive reinforcment is probably going to work a lot better and help keep tension down for the scholarship/academic chair - who is only doing their job in enforcing the minimum GPA. The positive and negative thing will work too - when someone gets a good grade, studies for a certain amount of time, gets their GPA up or even goes to class if theyre the slacker type, even a verbal praise could go a long way. i like the ideas of taking a group of hardworkers out to dinner, or money of formal! great ideas!
