We use to do this, but we were informed in a nice way that this is actually hazing as harmless as it seemed so we changed ours this year. We now have the lil sis start in one room and she walks from one sister to the next who is holding one of her matching flowers.. by the time they get outside they have a big bunch of flowers. Then they get to look up and see which family on the hill behind our house is holding their flower to find out who their big sis is.
It actually turned out really cute..
