HC I am working graveyard shift in the ER all this week?
HC last night EMS brought in this gentleman from one of the senior citizens homes in the area and they called it in as a cardiac arrest?
HC when the gentlemen got there he was on the "thumper"?
(Electronic machine they hook the patient up to that automatically does the compressions/shocks)
HC I have never seen anyone make it when they came in on the thumper?
HC this is not the point?
HC when they took it off and went to start working on him, not only was he already dead, he had started to rigormortis?
HC this guy had been expired for hours and the nursing home didn't know?
HC he was already stiff?
HC I want to make my money so that I never have to send my grandmother or mother to one of those places?
HC it was so sad?
HC I know that all homes aren't that slack, but it only takes one
HC 5 minutes after they brought him in, the security guard was looking at the survellience screens and saw this lady pass out in the front of the hospital?
HC they went and got her, and they had to intubate her within like 10 minutes?
HC if that security guard was napping at 4am (Like most of the others do), that lady would be dead right now?
HC I had a lot of excitement last night?
HC I had to tell someone that her mother didn't make it?
HC that is not my job, it's the nursing supervisors job, all I was going to do was take her to the family room?
HC people know what the deal is when you ask them to come with you?
HC she said that she wouldn't go, and she demanded that I told her then?
HC I couldn't tell her no, and I told her, and when she started crying, I started crying too?
HC I can see death all day long, but it breaks my heart to see family greiving?
HC I have to do it all again tonight, but HC I still love my job?
