There should be no such thing as an insanity plea. If you kill another human being, you should put away for life regardless of your state of mind at the time of the murder....end of story. Only exception would be self defense or in cases of domestic abuse when a partner withstands years of torture and finally decides to put an end to it because they feel they have no other way out.
I also feel that rapists should be put away for life.
