Fire guts Seton Hall house, brothers left homeless

An Oct. 29 fire at a house being used by Seton Hall University's Tau Kappa Epsilon left several students homeless and led to the evacuation of several homes in the neighborhood. No one was injured in the fire, which started around 6 p.m. and was brought under control about 90 minutes later. Some fraternities do not have an official house, but the burned building had been rented and occupied by members of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. It was across the street from campus and was destroyed. In January 2000, three Seton Hall students were killed and 58 others were injured in an early-morning fire at a freshman dormitory. -- New York Times
