Two thoughts here:

If this person pledges a good chapter of a good national fraternity, there won't be a problem. Right? One that follows the rules. Right? One that truly personifies what it's founders believe(d). Right?

Maybe MTV will get bored and go away. Yeah, Right!

I'm going to send an E-mail to the Delt Central Office to tell them about this possibility and, hopefully, have them warn all of our chapters to steer clear. If it isn't already too late. If MTV is promoting this, it has probably already been shot.

And, it's possible they didn't pick a national or international fraternity.

If the portrayal is unfavorable, maybe the national organizations (Interfraternity Council, Panhel, etc.) should get together and approach MTV and ask for equal opportunity to tell the true story. (Please note I didn't say "Equal time," that rule is old news and didn't apply outside political campaigns. And I think it has been repealed anyway.) Not that I think they would get very far.

All in all, I suppose the best we can hope for it that this "pledge" is in a reputable chapter of a good organization.
